Default Saugeen River - Aug 1/10 PICS

Headed out yesterday morning (didn't hit the water 'til 10, we kind of needed to sleep in) to search for some bass from the shore of a property in the extended family. Second cast of the day I hit paydirt using a 3" Power Tube.

This was also a day to get some dogs out for some exercise, and as soon as the fish started fighting, they started "helping"

Needless to say, our success rate dropped dramatically.

Several more followers, a couple of nibbles, but no more real stikes. Didn't take much longer for the river to get REALLY busy with canoes and kayaks, so having the dogs in the water wasn't hurting anything at all.

We were pleasantly surprised to find no worms in the first fish of the day and he provided a nice lunch when tossed in flour and some seasoning and fried in butter!

Next time out we're going to leave our helpers at home and either head up stream to target some brookies, or go to some spots where we can get after some pike. Good day at the river!

If we aren't supposed to eat animals how come they're made out of meat?

I think it is a fairly well-kept secret actually! There isn't much you can't find within the watershed.... the fact I live less than a mile from it doesn't hurt either!
