    Default Fishing in Mississauga?

I some family (in-laws) in Mississauga that my wife and I frequently visit. There have been times when there have been opportunities to get away for a few hours and to do my own thing.

Are there any good fishing opportunities in Mississauga, within a reasonable distance to the Burnamthorpe - Erin Mills Pkwy area? I noticed a river near there that Burnamthorpe crosses which seemed decent.

I'm not sure if I'll have time to get out this weekend or if there is any reason to even go this time in the season, but would any members be up for a trip sometime to show a northern fellow what fishing in the GTA is like?

    Anytime Trouty.....

Just let me know when you are down this way and if Im avalible I'd be happy to take you
out. Lived in Mississauga 40yrs and I'm now in Milton.
You are probably talking about the Credit River....excellent Salmon and Steelhead River.
They (Steelhead) are in there now but the river is high and dirty....it wont be long.
That section of river from 403 (?) down to the lake is open all year.
I never fish that far up but I think the cut off for "open all year" is south of the 403.
    Someone may correct me....
    Anyway PM me whenever...

Great! Thanks FSHN. Like I said I'm down there this weekend but then again, I'm down there every few months so we can definately hold off until a better time in the year. It's supposed to rain all weekend too.

I may be interested in tagging along depending upon which weekend it is.

A bad day hunting or fishing is better than a good day at work.
