    Default charcoal as scent control?

Heard from a couple buddies that they put a few bbq charcoal bricks in their vehicles, hunting closet and tote bins for their clothes. charcoal is porous and supposedly soaks up scent. anyone hear of this or do it themselves?

While this is true to some degree, its a battle you will never win.

I wouldn't dream of it. Most charcoal smells like creosote to me, until it gets hot enough to burn it off.

I saw the article in the OOD magazine showing this trick and thought I'd give it a try too. I've had deer come in and feed where I've walked through and they didn't seem to be too nervous. I was in my stand 40 yds away watching them. Until I see myself get busted over and over by downwind deer, I'll keep using the bricks!
