Having a problem with the snowblower.
I've changed the oil, spark plug and added fresh gas. It doesn't have any problems running until I try to plow through wet snow. The chute will clog up and the machine bogs down and dies. Is the machine just not adequate for wet snow??
Could a stretched auger belt cause this??

If your pushing to fast it will do this if it wet and heavy . Does it still do in slow speed ?

Wet snow is a killer on small blowers. I would dry off the chute and apply a couple coats of car wax, it helps keeping the chute clean from build up.
Wet snow makes all snow blowers work harder.
With a single stage it's worse as the 2 stage is what helps throw the snow.
Yes wet snow is the vain of small blowers. You almost need a three stage blower for the heavy wet stuff.
I spray the chute with silicone spray to help.
Worn down impellers can also be an issue on older blowers, something I'm facing right now with my 2 stage.
There's a you tube vid where the guy adds hard rubber flaps to the edge of the impeller blades to close the gap, seems to do the trick.Quote:

I have had the same model for nearly 20 years. In wet snow the chute clogs all the time. A single stage auger just doesn't have enough push to move the heavy sticky wet stuff out the chute. Carry a stick to clear it and keep your fingers out!
