Amazing, This bear was the same age as me. Lived all them years in the wilds of Yellowstone National Park. Great read I thought I'd share.

Gonna be a big stink raised here. PETA and the huggers are going to say he should have been tranquelized and given some dental implants so he could continue his natural life cycle without human interference.
On a side note, I never thought a bear could live that long in the wild.

Good story thanks !! In Nature, where only the strong survive, he lived well beyond what we would consider prime.
Park service did the right thing.
Quote:
He only weighed 170 pounds (77 kilograms), just a fraction of the 450 pounds (204 kilograms) the bear weighed as a 5-year-old
Good for the Park Service. Healthy Griz can be dangerous at the best of times. Old,sick Bears that have a bad disposition and can't hunt well anymore often choose easy prey as a matter of course making them far more dangerous to people, exponentially. Besides, the poor old fella was suffering,so,it was the humane thing to do.
170lb male grizzly must be skin and bones. Said he could kill calves by just gumming them to death with his lack of teeth. Thats how strong they are.
Amazing
