Online Petition To Enact Legislation To Hold Federal Governments To Account

We have a government that uses the constitution like it is toilet paper ... if they ignore something as important as the constitution, what's the chance they'll care about a petition?

I'm not saying this isn't important ... it is ... but I personally don't think a petition gets anyone anywhere ... it's like farting in an elevator ... irritates a few people, some may laugh at it.

Pretty sad we have to lobby for our government officials to simply follow the laws they preach. These tyrannic narcicists don't understand these laws are to protect THEM not us.

Not to sure how accurate your thread title might be I mean the petition is worded pretty differently?

"remove an elected official from their elected position before their term has ended"

I was trying to keep it simple. The threat to "remove an elected official from their elected position before their term has ended" would be the accountable part. I believe it is modelled after State of California Law that would see an election triggered after petition based on the performance of the elected official or government in question. It would in effect be like a referendum and preventative measure against uninvited legislation as the offender would essential be campaigning on their manifesto.
There is a Recall effort underway right now in California to have Governor Gavin Newsom "Recalled" for his lockdown measures and his personal disregard for them, an online petition has been circulating garnering 1.5 million signatures for the Recall, once the signatures are verified they will have an election. FYI Canada's and California's population are both around 39 million.

I am hoping the Members of this forum could unite and support this petition as it is a Non Partisan application that could serve for the betterment of our Canada.

Seems like a slow day so far on the forum I thought I'd just cast this out there in hopes of getting a few more bites (signatures).

I always get weery throwing out my phone number , email address postal code etc....am I gonna' get spam mail and phone calls after this?...

I signed it last week and no spam, I always delete my phone number when it auto fills on anything. Thanks for your consideration.
