Pelee Island fishing tips?

I'm thinking March and maybe April. Anyone know good areas for Channel cats, Pike, Perch, white bass, or walleye? Planning on bringing some cleos, mepps, dropshots, and spreaders with some nightcrawlers. Fishing from shore. Any advice would be appreciated and you can PM me if you prefer.

I've visited Pelee Island many times and fished there many times. I've probably casted little cleos, crank baits, and mepps all over the shores there. But that was usually in May or July.

Only ever caught/released a few largemouth near the Marsh area while using some plastics. Also caught a sucker with my bare hands near the point. I never failed to see carp or sheepsheads there as well. But I never really saw it as a good fishing area.

Might be jumping the gun a little unless your going to be there anyways and looking to spend some time fishing weather/open water permitting.

Heading there with a backpack and a bike to camp a couple days. If you have any info on other times of the year that'd be great too! I always bring a teloscopic rod with me. I usually bike around the island and stop at spots that look good. Even small-medium sized channel cats would be good as I have some good tinfoil campfire recipes ;). I wouldn't be opposed to night fishing either since it's a solo trip and I got my own schedule.

Sounds like a blast...I've been watching a ton of camping vids at night before bed. Having a cottage makes me feel as though my kids are missing out on how I grew up. So this year...I've made a promise to take them camping on the ATV's...looking forward to it. Do you make vids on your trips? I may try to, as the kids will think it's pretty fun:)

I grew up with a family cottage and had some great memories but do not miss the grass cutting, deck staining, dock repairs, boat repairs (we always had a beater for the kids, relatives 'dropping' in, and the general maintenance of a second house. We thought about it when my wife and I married but having kids in rep sports is not indicative to a cottage lifestyle. Until I retire I am fine renting the 2 weeks a year I use one.

I make the occasional video haha. Mostly pictures. I do like to capture the trip on Camera. A cottage is definitely a blast, but if I'm not hunting I gotta suffer in a tent or hammock to distract my boredom LOL.

For camping I would suggest the town run camp site on the East side of the island, the private run camp site on the North West end is not recommended. For fishing you will be best served with a boat able to handle a 3-5' swell, troll a worm harness or lure around the island in spring just after the spawn for walleye, and rainbows. If you don't have a boat head over to scudder marina on the North side and fish off the old pier at night for walleye, or jumbo smallies in the day. Lake Erie has a very large biomass relative to Lake O, you will catch something.
