So they caught a gun trafficker
The guy was attempting to smuggle in 249 Polymer 80 Glock kits in from the States. Anyway I started to look up some information, and crunch some numbers. The kits sets, State side cost between $150 to $170, so he would have needed seed money in the range of $40,000. Retail, the manufactured guns in Canada sell for around $850. I suspect the street value to avoid the nuisance of government legalities would make the price top at least $1000.each. In terms of having a six figure, tax free salary, that would be quite some incentive to get involved in trafficking. Alas the fellow got caught. I have to wonder thought, how many time he didn’t. I also, have to wonder what might be done, that could make gun trafficking less profitable and attractive, in order to do away with the incentive. As was the case with marijuana using punitive measures does not appear to be much of a deterrent. Nor do government legalities appear to add much to public safety. A case in point, would be last spring’s N.S. rampage.
