Have you had a COVID shot?

The purpose of this thread is to share information about getting the shot from people who’ve actually had it not a discussion of why anyone won’t or shouldn’t get it. Please try and stay on topic.

For those who have had the shot what was the process you went through, which vaccine did you get, where did you have to go, did you have side effects and was anything said about the second shot?

I pre-registered online with the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph health unit on March 11, received notice to make an appointment on March 29 and booked the earliest availability which was on April 8.

The process at the clinic set up at the University of Guelph was very smooth and took 30 minutes from arrival to departure. I received the Pfizer vaccine and written and email confirmation that I’d been vaccinated with the first shot including the brand and lot number. I was told the health unit would contact me for the second shot.

The next day I had a slight stiffness in my arm and didn’t feel quite 100 percent in the morning. By the afternoon I was back to normal.

For those who’ve had the shot(s) how did it go for you?

Pretty much the same for my wife and I... little bit of a sore arm... that was it. We had ours in Apr7 in Chatham. Very well run operation there. Walked in, did the screening, next stop was the shot. We waited the requisite 15 min. Then went to another lady on our way out, to get our printout of the shot. Ours was the Pfizer vaccine. Easy process. We debated about getting it, but with elderly parents and grandkids to babysit, it was a no brainer.

I'm not sure what you expecting in an answer...it's the same flu shot scenario we get every fall...nothing in the mechanism of delivery has changed. Pretty much guarantee your going to get 95% the same answer.

i know someone who got the second shot a while ago, im not sure what company or whatever, but she was out for 2 days after she had the second one. throwing up head pounding stomach killing her etc, lasted for 2 or 3 days. she seems fine now tho.

( she got it a while ago as she works in the medical field)

Shopper's Drug Mart,registered on-line Friday,vaccine the next day for both me and the Mrs. We were fourth in line,in-out after 15 min. wait,letter of certification on the way out. The whole thing took 30 minutes after a 20 minute computer glitch trying to communicate with MOH data base. It seems it was simply swamped. We had a sore shoulder the next day and a bit of a headache,but,other than that,it was clear sailing. MOH to contact us via e-mail for the next schedule to complete the series of AstraZeneca.

Me and Mrs had appointment at a local arena, told to only show up 5 min before. We got in, registered and sat down till we were called. Got our Maderna shot and had to sit 15 min before we could leave. They told us second shot was 28 days to 16 weeks and everyone had to get vaccinated before second round. Sore arm for a few days. Very well organized and they respected distances and were constantly cleaning everything. We’re both very happy to have gotten vaccinated.

Got my first shot 3 weeks ago Pfizer , on the recommendation of a 96 year old client of mine made sure put it on the arm I don't sleep on. Was up in Brampton Oster something or other? Was well run felt like any buffet service line. Second appointment is being bounced around was set for next week than moved to July 1st however won't work for me so trying to arrange a more convenient day(booking second shot seems hard than the first but can't blame them as it is an everchanging circumstance). Other than the arm feeling like it was bruised no ill effect noted.
With death off the table think I'm pretty good to go now.

It isn't applicable because real names are not used and anyone who doesn't want to share the information is under no obligation.
