8 deer out field grazing this morning parked gator In Tree line two dogs in gator. Watching the deer 120 yd out. Next they start coming my way. Then they start running my way. Then they circled around came up behind me. I’m in evergreen line 49-50’ tall trees gators parked inside put chair out for turkey spot deer walk right by it inches from it

Cigarette and camera they know something is out of place. Take 100 pictures couple videos deer circle around me looking this way that way then go back out eating in field. I’m ready to leave so I cough doesn’t scare them. Go over take a Leak deer just out eating zipper going back up caught their attention

Awesome pictures. They seem to know when its off season and hunting season....

Judging by their hips, the deer looked in good shape. I saw a doe and yearling last week which was somewhat surprising as we had quite a bit of snow this winter.

There’s about 5 fresh ground scraps. Now it’s hoof scraps but close to same spots as fall ones. Never really seen them spring time

Yes. Do the deer stand there and lick like a cow would. Yes some times.
Deer eat the ground they will dig at the ground years after the block is gone

To put a block out like that is for me
I’m sure deer would prefer me to throw it on the ground take a sledge hammer to it and smash it to powder throw some dirt over it

If you want to attract deer just dump out 5 pounds of sugar. Laugh if you want I don’t care just saying
Oh and grape koolaid powder if you can find it. I’m serious

It’s been my experience that deer aren’t particularly attracted to the block itself. Once it dissolves however, they will paw and eat the earth leaving a crater.

I’ve had problems with bears stealing them so I partially bury them-leaving the top exposed. Once the block dissolves, the ground will be saturated with salt and minerals which will linger for a couple of years.

You can buy that same mineral in powder/granular form at the local feedstore....just pour it over a stump or in a shallow hole...
