Spring Deer Count.

Just before Easter I took an 80lb bag of corn out into the bush and threw up a trail cam to see who made it thru the winter.

So far pleased, there are 5 deer hitting the site. Mostly Does but one older one that may be a buck (size).

seems like over here as well they thrived through this winter.

Always fun to see deer right now they blend into bush so well. You see maybe 3 because of white around the eyes or flick of their tails. Then all of a sudden your counting as fast as you can

Nice pics. I have a resident backyard doe as well. Should be another good year for venison.

I haven't seen any fawns yet, getting a little concerned, but if I remember correctly, they didn't show up till later in the spring.

I haven't set up for a count out back yet, that's where they usually yard up. Still to much water on the trails to get back there.

i think i started to get fawn pictures right after the turkey hunt or during the turkey hunt last year, theyll be around :)

Mid may to mid June for fawns

Even down here Mike it's normally around the 4th week in April before they start to drop their young... Love seeing them this time of year. They do look pretty healthy Mike...
