I just spent the last few weeks scouting Dufferin and Simcoe county forest tracts and have not seen any sign of turkeys inside the county forests. I have seen turkeys on nearby farmers fields, but nothing in the county forests. Has anybody actually shot a turkey inside one of these county forest tracts? Can anybody share what to look for when scouting for turkeys there?

Get yourself there before sunrise and give a listen the ears can see further than your eyes. After that sign can be harder to find. dust bowls on sunny sandy field edges, droppings under a roost tree. scratching in the forest leaves.
Don't forget to wear your Walkers....they are amazing for hunting turkey !!Quote:
