As to your comment on not lifting a finger. It just shows the skewed view you have on the acceptability of police brutality.

This was coming for a long time ... unfortunately the checks and balances were not there, to deal with (discipline) problem cops ... problem cops are often repeat offenders ... they are comfortable with the system and get away with "murder". Ruins it for all the good cops, but on the other hand, if the good cops don't step up and call it out ... they are doing it to themselves.
Time to bring the power trip cops back down to earth ... been a long time coming. And I believe their training has a lot to do with it too ... good cops tend to have good training ... bad cops were trained to be "mean" and "aggressive", or they just don't give a crap about the training they received.
I'll wager there was a 'deal' made. They had to find him guilty or the BLM would have brunt the city down.
Find him guilty and then either send him to a Club Med facility for protection or put him into a witness protection program and hide him somewhere.
Solves both problems.
Well from what I saw he deserves it. I can understand a lot of roughing up in many situations but that was way over the line in my mind

Yes he was guilty but 2nd degree murder - I think the defense made a mistake not letting him take the witness stand and explain what was going through his mind when all this was happening - cops are going to be afraid to use force in arresting people when they resist - what have they to gain but have a lot to loose - who knows if the jury was afraid to convict him of a lesser crime because of all the rioting and threats that some people were getting - the jury could see that on tv every night
