Opening Day Turkey

Well. It took me three years to get my first turkey and I did it on opening day.
Got to the blind at 5:00am. At 6:00 made a call and got an immediate response. 6:15 made a call, got another immediate response. 6:30 made a call and no response.
6:45 to hens appear in the field by my decoys. Two minutes later. Three bearded Turkeys appear.
They looked fairly young. They all had short beards. So I decided to take a shot at the bird that had the longest beard. Turned out to be 5 inches long.

At 7:00 am dead turkey.

It was great and what a thrill.

Yes. That is very true. I was hooked before I got my first. Now , I'm really hooked. Bought another tag. Will be out Saturday morning to try and get another one
