I had the same happen to me years ago on two of my spincasts...I avoided ever placing them on a beach, and used them for approx 10 years with no problems.....just in case you don't find any:)
What reels are they? I have a box of reels that I use for parts.
Pflueger President and Shakespeare Sigma 030.
That little Sigma and the Berkley Lightning Rod that I still have were the first rod/reel I bought with my own money when I was 12 years old and my buddies and I preferred fishing over Atari :D

Aikman has a ton of stuff. Not sure if he's open right now
Aikman's on Novar Drive in Mississauga has fixed a few of my reels and replaced the odd part that has fallen overboard. I sent my Buddy there a few weeks ago to have a broken reel looked at and it was repaired and back to him in a week.
Thanks Willie and everyone else who's responded; you guys are the best!
Rocky's in Orillia has always been great to deal with
Sorry 9 no luck the old shaekspeares have the handle that screws on and the other reels have the bolt connected to the dust cap. I did find an old Zebco xrl 35 I didn't even know I had and while trying to find out some info on it I came across a few fishing reel parts sites on line.
