Here We Go Again
Seems like I can't get enough of these things. And with Covid maybe too much time on my hands.
First and foremost a big thanks to Big Jack for his help in getting some of the components and assistance in putting things together.
I managed to obtain a large shank Savage Target CF action in stainless (this one is a right hand left port) which required a left bolt nose. I went with a 209 model for ease and convenience ,and wanted to avoid the LRMP module ignition. All other components were supplied by ASG in the States, ie. rear sealing 209 breech plug and a Brux 1:20 .45cal. 25" barrel.
I plan on using some of my lead cast bullets that will be powder coated, one is a straight hollow pt. and the other is my modified spitzer both are 300 grs.they will be full form sized to the barrel.
My club has just opened up so I am trying to co ordinate a time to test things out.
here are some pics of the rig and pills.

This is a beautiful gun.
What surprised me about the gun is how well it shouldered and pointed.
Smokeeter will make it shoot bug holes!
Hey Kokes - range is open again!

I swear it's an illness. After seeing this one built my son had me on the look out for a mate to it, I wasn't able to locate another target action but I did manage to get a hold of a model 12 BVSS in the same stock. I had to refinish the stock and swapped out the barrel and adjusted the headspace, boltnose and breach plug and voila.
Need a trip to the range.

Sorry for the late report, I finally got to shoot the target build. I didn't have much success with the cast bullets sabotless in this rifle. I think the speeds were too fast albeit I did reduce the load but still unsatisfactory for my liking. I did have great results with both of the cast bullets above when shooting them in a sabot in a BP gun.
But I did have some promising results with some of my modified XTP (non mag), I spitzerized them and bumped them up to .458 dia. then I full formed them.
What I did notice is that the latest batch of XTP 300 grainers I got only had one cannelure band on the bullet and the older version had two, same product number from Hornady.

Nicely done.
Nothing nicer than adding your own touch and seeing it perform.
