what is your limit if lake is in ont and que? Quebec you are allowed 5 any size. Here in ontario 4 only 1 over 18. If you live in ontario but fish a border lake....half ont half que what are you allowed to possess? Looked it up but pretty grey....

Depends on which province you have a license for and what side of the lake you are on.
Found this here
Boundary waters
Anglers who fish in waters that lie both in Ontario and another province or state must include the total number of fish caught anywhere in those waters as part of the number caught and kept or possessed under the Ontario recreational fishing regulations when bringing those fish into Ontario.
Hope this helps.
There's nothing grey about it, if you have an Ontario fishing license then you follow the Ontario regs.
You're just looking for a loophole so you can keep more fish than you should.
Bit harsh I think. Would like to believe just asking clarification. I'm no expert and would differ to the MNR however as I read it.
Follow the rules as to where the fish are actually pulled out of the water as to keeping fish. If you have an Ontario fishing license then you follow the Ontario regs on the ontario side. If you have an Quebec fishing license then you follow the Quebec regs.
In any case one can keep in possession only one limit of fish, not one from each jurisdiction.
Pretty straightforward.
Legalese is all about definitions.
Possession is clearly defined.
It also includes how many fish are in the freezer at the cottage, or home….
I suppose in theory, you could buy a Que licence just as we do when vacation. Not sure if this is a work around. Maybe.
But at some point. You have to dock. Clean them/freeze them in Ontario.
Possession limit
The total number of a species of fish that you can have in your possession at any time. It includes fish caught today and in the past, whether they are:
freshly landed
in your car or boat
in your cooler
at home in your fridge or freezer
Yup...... shore lunch is indeed included in your daily limit. Can't eat all you want.
