Didn't get to go fishing did a renovation instead..

Installed a new door, the old one the weather stripping was done even the insert stripping kept coming out the moulding around the window was all cracked. But who ever made that opening wow very poor it was straight but it should have been 1 inch wider and we used the same size door. I still have to do some trimming of the spray foam and we had to cut the wall ledge behind the door the last people must have installed that after the door.

But got it done anyways. just 3 more windows in the house (basement) to replace and half moon on front door (I might replace front door have not decided) and repair front screen door as well.

Also have to do some parging below the door and around the whole foundation that's a job for Sept.

Cheap door but with all materials and taxes still cost me 640.00 bucks.


Luckily my hunting partner does renovations he helps me on projects and I buy his hunting licenses and help maintain his car.

And yes I do have a 2 step ladder but the bucket was only 5 ft away the ladder was in the garage 70 ft away. :)

Can't tell from your pics but I'll assume its a vinyl covered door? Those doors that are exposed to the elements will deteriorate over time. If your door or part of the lower section gets wet during rain storms from water splashing up, that water runs down the door to the weather strip on the bottom of the door. Over time that strip loses its sealing ability and will allow water to seep in. That water will find its way inside your house and usually end up under the floor covering thus causing major water damage. A simple fix is to apply a thin stip of exterior caulking along that strip to prevent water from getting inside and rusting out the bottom of the door or getting inside your house.

No it's steel, plus it is covered by the Carport. I will paint it later this year as well.

Actually I have a lot of painting to do like the sills around the windows that were installed last year as well. I hate painting.
