Years ago I started getting heart burn a lot - about a half hour after eating - had some tests done and it showed that I had what they call reflux disease - acid from the stomach would get into the lower part of my esophaguses - was given a prescription called Nexium for a month - it helped for a while but then as time went by I started getting heart burn again - would take Tumps but ended up taking some after each time I ate - then I started taking an over the counter Nexium for about 2 or 3 days then I was ok for a week or more - the over the counter Nexium was a smaller dose. than the prescription dose that I was originally given - I usually have a large glass of grape juice each morning and about 6 weeks ago I started putting a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar into the juice - the vinegar was organic and still had the mother in it - to my surprise I haven't had any heart burn for about 4 weeks now - I know that they tell you not to drink acid juices like orange juice or tomato juice when you have this reflux disease but somehow the vinegar is helping with this problem - thought I'd pass this on in case you get heart burn a lot - I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope it keeps working
