I'll be honest I am surprised it has taken this long, there is always talk of hunters being such great conservationists but we use plastic that we literally through out into the ecosystem every time we pull the trigger, I just don't want to get taken to the cleaners on price
meh, i wouldnt mind if they did change them but in all honesty are plastic shotgun wads the real issue ? i see plastic bags and waterbottles way more than i see a plastic wad on the floor. just my opinion anyways.
I think it's a great idea with the corn starch wads. We pick up every wad we see when goose hunting but in all honestly a lot go unfound.
I seen they were making some sort of corn/oat plug to hold moisture away from the steel shot in the plastic shell. Make the right shot and you get to feed the geese before ya kill em!

Does anyone remember the shotgun shells their grandparents used? I still have a Dominion waxed cardboard shell sitting on my bar that belonged to my Dad. Maybe,we should go back to them,too.

While 100% agree with the environmental impact of the plastic wad........and re thinking the design,this is not even the tip of the pollution iceberg.
Lets just look back at the water bottle-the "cap"is likely at least as much as 1/2 of a wad.
Now-how many bottles are emptied a day in the world?
How many wads are shot out in a day? I bet most are used on trap and skeet ranges anyway, where they have next to zero environmental impact,
Similar to the once great Emission Control-kick the small guy,and hope he will not see the construction heavy machinery working nearby and polluting like no tomorrow, or a freight train passing by creating dark lingering cloud........
Well let's talk about single use plastics. 50 percent of the population menstruates once every 28 days. Now how many wear a tampon and again how many would like to have to resort back to using a cardboard applicator. I don't personally know , can someone answer that question?

i still remember once having to wrap my pump barrel in a towel, clamp it in a bench vice and use a steel rod down the barrel and a hammer to pound a swollen shell out of my chamber after a rainy morning!
Plus, since they only used cardboard disc wads in those loads, you had all kinds of lead pellets deformed from contact with the sides of the barrel, and lousy patterns resulting!
I will take the plastic wads and hulls any day, and not worry about the little polluting I’m doing!! (And I do pick up as much of it after as I can find!)
