For me hunting can't be defined by one word. Its something that encompasses every facet of one's being that participates in the activity. Be it physical, spiritual or lifestyle.
Not too sure I can classify anything as a sport when taking a life.
A couple of quotes I agree with:
Quote:
Hunting is not a game; hunters are not players. Sports are contrived and theatrical, but hunting has been a part of the life of humans since we first appeared.
Then there is the unfortunate truth:Quote:
Hunting is not a sport. In a sport, both sides should know they're in the game.
For many hunters the quest is primarily for the meat, but for many, it's for the trophy. A sought-after rack, when killed, becomes a trophy to be mounted on the wall.
Hard question, makes one question his or here's own ethics..but I do know for sure, that hunting is more of a sport than synchronized swimming HaHa..
For some it is a sport and some not, I'm a meat hunter.
A way of life !
Glen
some hunt for sport.
i dont see myself in that way though. Hunting and animals as a whole is a passion for me. its one thing in my life that i really do love to do genuinely. even if i dont take any game i love to get out there. i love to look at tracks. try and figure out whats happening or just spending wholesome time with my father.
I don’t think it’s sport I think it’s just part of harvest no different than raising chickens or beef to harvest
