Looking for a new GPS when dogging through the woods

Hey Guys,

I am looking for a new GPS when walking through the woods with our dogs. Anyone have any opinions on which ones are best these days. The one I have is about 15 years old and sucks at locking in GPS signal plus its super slow. What new features are a must? Ideally I would like it be a walkie talkie and GPS all in one. Not even sure if they have that.

Garmin Oregon with camera

If you make a picture the picture will be on the map according to GPS location
then you can download it to your apple and in photos also will be on the map location ,
imagine to have all the game crossing beading site location under your fingertip

I made all the bear poo picture in the area 3 years later just went back and picked up the Bear ...

I own a Garmin Oregon. It’s hard on batteries and I find it difficult to program. Too many features for my liking but I do like how you can download satellite imagery into it.

Some things to think about about getting the gps/radio combo (Rhyno): battery drain and radio output (range) and gps features. You may be better off with separate units.

I might use my Garmin alpha 100 this year deer/moose hunting. I mean I got 5 collars, It has birds eye satellite imaginary, I put a caller on everyone I'm hunting with for the day and I can track them and make sure they don't get too close. (Has shock and tone setting in collar lol)

Garmin Montana 650 is my go to gps!

Not a GPS unit but the Gaia app for smartphones is phenomenal. It works on the GPS on your phone - not the cell signal so you can put your phone in airplane mode and it works just fine without draining the battery. Also the bigger screen on your smart phone is much easier to read and the maps are much easier on the eyes.

ihunter on your phone, works on GPS even when you don't have signal, and you can cache satelite maps of the area.
