Moderna, Novavax developing combined COVID-19, flu shots

I've mentioned this before...the official news release is out .

The company said the benefits of a pan-respiratory vaccine would be immense, pointing to Centers for Disease Control data that indicates there were over 400,000 hospitalizations due to influenza in the U.S. in the last pre-pandemic year, with the seasonal flu representing an average economic burden of $11 billion US annually.

The drugmaker already had several influenza vaccine candidates in development. The new vaccine combines the experimental flu shot that is furthest along with its COVID-19 vaccine.

Not sure how they are going to manage this. The H?N? influenza (Flu) changes every year and they don't know which one is going to be the dominant one for the season until winter has rolled the Australia/New Zealand.

I'll bet Flu shot vaccinations this fall will be better than the 40-50% the Flu shot usually receives.

So it might just be a double this September ? Everyone required to get the flu shots? If it's a single dose and mandatory covid boosters everyone or the the majority will have to get the shot if they choose too.
Maybe next season ? Surely they can't be talking about it this season shot time is around the corner.

Maybe....just maybe...... Influenza by any other name could also be called covid?
Was there not zero cases of the flu reported last year?
