Porcupines

Yesterday witnessed a massive tree slaughter by a monster porcupine.
Tamaracks one by one,all dead.
Big ones,likely 20 years plus old....

What is actually the rule to hunt porcupines?
I know-they can be harvested under small game licence, South from the French River.
But-what is the rule AFTER harvesting the animal.
Like-what the law requires to do with the carcass.

Edible animals must be eaten,furbearing animals(the ones can be hunted)must have hide saved and used up.......
What about the porcine?

This is public land,and i would "love"to save those trees nearby,but at the other hand,i am not looking for a trouble.

You do know that tamaracks loose all their needles every year making them "look" dead.

I know but these trees are chewed to shreds by the porky, and he is chewing another one as we speak.
Plus these have brown leaves ,or none,while the next ones are great yellow still,with a lot of foliage , falling like snowflakes in the winter.

Apparently they are good eating

I agree. It's not hard to tell if a tree has been hit by porkies.

Protecting my dogs, outbuildings and trees are more important than "watching nature take place."

On my property they are shoot on sight and bury them where they fall.

Seems i can assume You have already tried..........Any good receipt???

So last time my Turkish friend was here some how we got talking about porcupines he said they where good eating
And I said how do you go about skinning a porcupine he said you put them in a pail of water watch closely they relax quills then you can dress them ?
