Over 80 Lawyers Call for an End to COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates

"A group of lawyers has issued a declaration calling for an end to COVID-19vaccine mandates and passports, measures they say have strategically infringed on Canadians Charter-protected rights and freedoms."

"They erode civil liberties strategically, attempting to not run afoul of the law or to trigger protections in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms such as liberty and security of the person, the freedoms of association, assembly, expression, conscience, religion, and mobility rights, the declaration reads."

"In their declaration, the lawyers identified several areas of concern, one being that in response to the pandemic, provincial legislatures passed statutes that delegate broad discretionary powers to unelected public health officials, who in turn created draconian legal restrictions by fiat, without public scrutiny or open debate.
"Medical regulators have become dictatorial, they write."

"In our system of law, no principle is more important than the right to control your own body and to make your own medical and health decisions, it says."

"Vaccine passports create the infrastructure for a global digital surveillance system. Institutions that last year were prohibited from collecting individual medical history now demand it as a condition of employment or admission."


"Canadians should have control of their own lives and have the right to make their own decisions about their health, medical treatments, personal information, travels, and associations, they write."

"Canada is supposed to be a free country governed by the rule of law. Restore it now or risk losing it for good."

This thread has been very helpful! I was surprised to discover that I'd crossed paths with two of the lawyers who signed this declaration. I forwarded the link to a some of their clients who will soon be ex-clients. :D

Any financial harm caused to the signatories of this declaration was done to themselves. It is appropriate for clients to be fully informed if their attorney makes public statements with which they disagree or find offensive and make their representation decisions accordingly. One of the lawyers on that list is about to lose a big chunk of business.

The clients do not disagree. You do and going out of your way to ensure that a pathetic vengeance is applied to those who do not conform to your beliefs and ideologies. Not much of a soul in you?

I'd rather ensure people I know weren't exposed to an attorney who may be a higher risk of infection or be unaware their attorney holds vastly divergent medical and scientific opinions.

If some of their clients didn't disagree with the "declaration" they wouldn't be reconsidering their legal representation. The only reason they are is because you posted the link on this forum and I forwarded it to them. Thanks for your help!

This is about choice and freedoms.
They may have already recovered and therefore have more antibodies than you lol.

Indeed it is about choices and freedom. Clients should be informed about their attorney's choices and exercise the freedom to seek alternative representation.
