Pfizer Course Has 23% Efficacy Vs. Omicron

Straight from Pfizer...the Comirnaty vaccine is basically useless against the Omiron variant.

So the fully vaccinated have no real protection from getting infected, so the conundrum for Dr Tam...back to lockdowns or just let it run it's courses thru the population. ??

It leaves the government in a position that it needs to change its response.

Ontario could see 10 thousand cases a day in the next month or 2. They don't have the resources to investigate everyone it's just not possible they relied on contact tracing they need a new approach.

How much of a government response should the people want for a variant that is less lethal than the common flu???
omicron is the break we have been waiting for and I'm puzzled by the desire to contain it. a) you can't and b) this is the natural course of a viral epidemic - the weakened strain that provides herd immunity.

If you want to know how honest the government is - wait for the published numbers of how many deaths are caused by the omicron strain that we are all supposed to be fearing.
My bet is that these numbers will never be published...
More proof that none of this is about health...

Covid contact tracing is a joke.
It's based on STD tracing methodology. But here's what's wrong with that. If you have an STD, ***most*** people would have a fairly short list of who they ***might*** have contracted it from. With coronavirus (or any airborne virus for that matter), this is impossible - your list would need to include any indoor encounters with anyone who was within 100-150 feet of you within the hour before you were there.

Omicron is just to spread fear to keep vax pass and push more shots.... once we defeat omicron it will be XXX or YYY variant and the circle will continue... wonder how long till ppl wake up...

Omicron if you look at South Africa's covid spike that started around November 18 the infection rate is very high but the deaths didn't jump at all. So far we are reporting 11 percent of cases are omicron here .

It very well could be a blessing this new variant. Hearing rumors that it could of formed and evolved in a weakened immune system. Like the untreated patients with HIV. That was the guardian who posted the possibility.

23% protection is better than zero and will do until people can get their third shot which does offer additional protection from the new variant. The wait shouldn't be too long for those of us over 50.

Until the 4th one

I've seen so much back and forth discussions in the last few days. Everyone is in a panic really what is a third shot going to do ? Evidence shows its getting past the boosters I posted that the other day. Full outbreaks with fully vaccinated and boosters.

What we are seeing is a salesman at work.
And if the shots are not going to be effective from the Vaccinations then it's a perfect the time to stop jabbing the kids. That is why they wanted to give it to the children is it not to slow the spread?

With omicron we should let it take it's course and scape the mandates.
