Nice looking dogs. Never seen one on the hunt however did look into getting one as was intrigued by them only hesitation was the males are just a little big for my taste.
Didn't get out nearly enough this fall since I was dogless this year. However, it did afford me several more opportunities to hunt with other's and their dogs. The exposure to different breeds, hunting styles and training levels helped me narrow down what I want in a dog and what to expect of myself.

The plans for the new year: repeat. Possible getting a puppy and a new shotgun.

Seems you got into a few grouse however not much woodcoock. Did you pass on them or didn't get into them?

Plans for 2022 include a new 28 gauge o/u and exploring new territory in search of this beautiful (and delicious) game bird.

Got a new pup this year. First time training a bird dog. Got him on some pen raised birds this year hopefully get him on some wild birds this fall.

Never see so many grouse before but I hunt alone so shooting them is a different story. Wc was few this year, at least where I hunt. Get into them the beggining of the season and nothing when its suppose to be the flight.
Also need to use my hunting guns more through out the year.
I hear ya about hunting alone and trying to get the drop on grouse. Not many where I hunt but enough to keep the dogs entertained. Found they were very jumpy, dogs would point 'em but trying to close in had them flush out to far.Quote:
