It would make sense that in ancient times there would be mega trees to match the size of the wildlife population such as dinosaurs.

Lol but I disagree with your second statement because the pyramids and such were built back then and we can't even build those monuments with today's technology! :P

I've got a 600 + or - years old oak tree in my back yard . Is that ancient? :) It covers 4 large properties. Any help with leaves is always welcome.:)



edit: I added a + or - to my number as the University wasn't positive about the exact number.

How do you know its that old? It would take a 6 ft long increment borer to determine that.

The University came out and did their thing based on the history etc they had. They wanted to make it an heritage tree.

Can you post a pic of what a 600 year old tree looks like. I had no idea we had trees that old other than old growth on the west coast.

I found this site that has a list of oldest trees in Ontario. I assume you have a white oak and according to what you say, you have the oldest Oak in Ontario by about 150 years. Sounds like an awesome tree if true.
