Spent a good part of the day ordering seeds for this year's garden - couldn't get over the cost of the seeds - I remember years ago when a packet of seeds cost 89 cents - now they cost 4 or 5 dollars - I can only imagine what vegetables will cost this summer when the seeds are so expensive - it pays to save seeds from grown vegetables that you grow if that's possible - but at the end there is nothing like fresh food from the garden -
Definitely worth saving your own. It’s nice to browse the various varieties though.
I save all mine not only for the money but for the genetics.
Jonny’s seeds has one heck of a catalogue. I believe they’re American.

Most gardeners planting a big patch up here would get their seeds in bulk from the farmers Co Op or other farm supply. If I went the packet route for even turnip's or parsnip for the deer patch I would go bankrupt. Get them at the Co Op by the 1/2lb and up...Quote:

The Republicans in our rural areas get a 8-10 cent break for some unknown reason. LOL
Up our way G they are getting 10 -15 cents savings at the pump.... And Joe the price up here if you convert liters to gals is $ 6:91 a gal...
Actually, the price of a US gallon is about $5.55 as they only have about 3.7 liters in their gallon as opposed to our Imperial gallon at about 4.4 liters. Then with the exchange you can knock another .75 off making it about $4.80, still too much though when I believe they pay about $3 US.
