Absolutely. and so sad to die young from drugs. In my former job , before retirement, I saw so many fine people die from a drug overdose. So sad.
Yes Sharon - it is sad that people go through life without the One who could help them when they need help - "come to Me all who are weary and heavily addend and I will give you rest" - she had such a beautiful voice
It may be sad to some but I'm sure the vast majority were not held down against their will to injest those drugs. It doesn't matter how long and hard you tell people the outcome, they don't listen. you make the bed you lay in.
Yes one of a kind talent.
Many great artists have had drug problems at one time. Comes with the territory in a way...creative people tend to have less stable identities (this is an asset for actors, who are constantly playing someone else). They also tend to be more sensitive and so drugs offer an escape from pain.
Many jazz & blues musicians back in the 30’s/40’s were on hard drugs way before the image of the ‘rock star’ became a thing.
Fame does weird things to people.
