A few critters while camping

Well got out camping for the long weekend. Got to Bisset Creek late Friday around 7:30. Unloaded equipment took off got truck load of firewood, set up tarp and tent set down have beer. Time 8:45.

Some other friends came in Saturday.

Built a wharf into the lake did some target shooting with the 22's, but didn't do much else, wet did see a few bunnies coming into our spot at Friday and Saturday night then Sunday nigh a Flying Squirrel shows up.

Sorry best I could do for night time shot. But it definitely had like a web between the front and back legs. It must have thought it was touching the sky LOL.

There are flying squirrels as far north as Ft. Smith, NWT. One was spotted there last week.
I haven't seen one up close since I lived at Base Boredom about 2003.

I have flying squirrels down here hard to get dogs to do their night business when squirrels flying tree to tree teasing them

First time I and my group ever saw one. Little bugger ran up the pole and I guess he thought he touched the sky.

Flying squirrels are nocturnal thus rarely seen. My grandfather had many a marten trap set off by flying squirrels over the years on his line in Parry Sound district.

Funny story, when I was a kid our cat brought one into the house and let it go in the kitchen. That was a chaotic adventure to get under control

One of the guys at the camp I belonged to near Bancroft came down out of his bunk screaming like a little girl when he threw his sleeping bag on the bunk and flying squirrel jumped at him. The rest of the guys thought I was crazy when I said it was a flying squirrel. We finally caught it in a small fishing net and released the little guy outside. I hadn't seen one since I was a kid until this night at camp. Sure did make for a lively evening at camp.
