On my last day of turkey hunting woke up extra early and nearly got the hell scared out of me...didn't flush until I was 1-2 feet away :scream:
My only action of the day unfortunately :silly:
Oh well...always next year for gobble gobble

Looks like it is time to shorten the season.
Not much chance of that nest surviving. She was obviously a young hen and has no idea where to build her nest. Coons, skunks, possums and or coyotes will clean them up pretty quick.
Just confirming was it a turkey or a grouse?
Thinking its a grouse.
I could be mistaken but those eggs and the size of the nest look too large to be a grouse... Either way it's a truly neat photo...
shortening season would have nothing to do with hens anyway. They start laying eggs a long time before season ends and since you can't shoot hens it effects nothing. For what kind of eggs I would think not turkey as their eggs are a good size and to get 12 in that nest would be tough, unless the tree in the background is 4ft in diameter,
