Looks like it is time to shorten the season.
A few years back on the last day of the season saw a hen with chicks already still wobbly so maybe only a few days old.Quote:

Not much chance of that nest surviving. She was obviously a young hen and has no idea where to build her nest. Coons, skunks, possums and or coyotes will clean them up pretty quick.

I could be mistaken but those eggs and the size of the nest look too large to be a grouse... Either way it's a truly neat photo...
