As a German dog owner, the skunk and porcupine stuff was very familiar.
Thx for posting. Great video. The porcupine brought back memories of my first gun dog; A springer with a very expensive taste in porcupines. I hoped after the first time she'd learn her lesson and be smarter the next time. I was wrong. I'm so glad to own a pointer now. I've literally seen my britt sniff a porcupine sitting on the ground. That was that. Another time, she came to me with one lone quill barely stuck in the very tip of her nose. Clearly she'd just sniffed a little too closely.
Fortunately my dogs have always chosen to retreat, getting only a few quills. Some dogs wanna fight 'em for revenge :(
great video, didn't catch what the skunk spray remedy was, anyone know what he was rubbing down on the dog?
I’ve used Skunk Off in the past and thought it did a pretty good job.
