Went camping again Truck problem again.
Yup went Camping left on Thursday with my son got to Bissett Creek around 2 PM unloaded, setup got firewood settle in for the evening. Went for a nice canoe ride and he caught 2 decent size Bass (See below). Late Friday afternoon my buddy shows up to go camping but exhausted as he spent 4 hours the previous day (Thursday) getting someones side by side unstuck. So we didn't do much Friday night except drink some beer.
Saturday we go out to a lake called Waterloo very strong winds difficult paddling but we go around the lake but no fish (usually there are some nice ones). After leaving he wants to go back to his place (30 km's) and grab some more beer so we drive out to his place get the beer and head back. Get to the bridge that goes across the Creek and get talking to a few other campers only to glance at my tire and see a 3 inch screw sticking out of it (Crap) and I can hear the air leaking. So get back to the camp site and lower down the spare, remember I bought this truck used about 4 years ago and bought new tires for it (only 15K on these tires). We get down the spare and the valve is actually broken off and the tire is flat (Crap). Well nothing we can do tonight, so next morning luckily we have a 12 volt pump. I inflate the tire and we can hear it hissing not good but going to drive 30 km's back to his place and see what we can do.
Out of the woods I stop by the highway to inflate again and no luck air is coming out faster and decide we have 25 pounds let's go.
Last km to the house I am pretty much out of air. Called Canadian Tire in Deep rive to make sure they have some tire valve stems the T413. We took the tire and used his 20 ton press to break the bead and get to the valve rim hole and insert the new valve without removing the tire. Crowbar and I get the tire back up near the rim. Woohoo so far so good. We remove the valve pin and blast air in which pops the tire around the rim and put the Valve back in fill the tire up and spray some soapy water on it to see if there are any leaks.
Sure enough leaks all around the rim on the inside, the rim is all corroded. Another idea buddy has some of that green slim so we dump that in it and roll the tire around for 10 minutes to get the slim all over inside and it slows the leak but doesn't seal it. I drive heading to Cobden and stop around 40 km's to check tire pressure and down to 30 pounds so keep going and make it to Cobden. I have road side assistance towing up to 200 km's were now 157 km's from home. Call roadside assistance and well just got home at 7:00 PM. Lesson of the day make sure your spare is good.:)
