Marlin .22 Rimfire Magazines - Limiting to 5 Rounds

Hi,
In the event that the gov't includes .22lr in the magazine limit regs that are supposed to be coming soon, I am wondering if anyone has modified a Marlin .22lr mag (for the 795/995/70 series of rifles) to hold less than the usual 10 round capacity?

I suppose the easiest way would be to pop off the bottom of the mag and epoxy a small dowel to the bottom of the mag follower. Does anyone know of a reason why this would not work? Does anyone have a better and/or easier solution?

Just want to add that I am really unhappy about the upcoming changes!

It'll be interesting to see if someone can come up with a modification for Cooey .22 tubular slide mags that hold 10 LR cartridges or 13 shorts. There still hjas to be thousands,if not tens of thousands of them in gun racks all over the country.

The dowel/ epoxy seems like a good idea, I was thinking the same thing for my "assault style" 30-30 but I'll have to see what kind of definitions these clowns come up with if these ideas become law.

( example: "permanently modify") it seems to me that just about any modification can be reversed with some determination.

my understanding the other day when I read it was that the magazine limit of 5 is for center fire guns

.22 are rimfire.

not the same. .22 should not be affected
