hunting a small plot of land in it i have a clearing 40yrds by 100yrds (approx) im using a CVA Optima Scoped but not sure if I should stick with PB 295 and 2 white hot pellets. Im looking for knock down if I shoot shoulder as the surrounding bush is very thick. Any surgestions once I decide I will sight in and report back but on paper at 50yrd im 1/2"groups just right of bull

I won’t take a shoulder shot and here’s my reason why. While deboning a deer kill this is what I found in the scapula (shoulder). The deer appeared healthy with no signs of being shot before. It survived a shoulder shot but not a boiler room shot.

The only time I’ve had a knock down is when a shot damaged the spine.

I didn’t take that shoulder shot but discovered the hole in the scapula when deboning the deer, I shot.
This deer was shot with a 250SST with boiler room placement. Yes, this bullet brakes apart and destroys the lungs. This deer barely made 50yds before it collapsed.
The only time I had a drop right there was with a spine shot. This deer’s lower body was covered by foliage so I went for the upper part of the boiler room that provided a clear shot. I hit higher than expected. I’ll take this gift, chuckle.
