Nah, cheaper, lower maintenance, and easier to replace if it breaks down if you just get one from the store. Still true if you spend the big bucks and buy an industrial version.
GW, are you talking about the machine to roll the dough thin and cut it, or are you talking about a machine to actually make the dough as well?
If just to roll thin and cut, my wife uses a Marcato Multipast. We've had it for a very long time, and it still works well. I don't know if this model is still available. Check the Italian stores the next time you are in Ottawa.
I wonder what the wife would say if I told her I need an young Italian woman to make pasta. :shades:
Not 100% sure if it would go over well she probably would ignored me. She watches that show Sister wives and I suggested we have a sister wife she didn't seem to acknowledge me for some reason. I even asked several times.:ninja::moose:
