1st Deer
After years of trying (half effort really those years) I finally got my first deer!
Was walking out of the bush a bit early as we had to get back (hunting w/Wife) and look up and there he is standing 15-20 yards away.
took a few minutes to confirm it was buck and then took the shot. Went for a neck shot, as I don't care about mounting anything with the hide and didn't want to deal with mess of organs my first time gutting, etc.
Anyway he dropped on the Spot, kicked a leg once and was done. So he was little 6 (7 tech. as there was an extra small nub.point) Point, and not sure the weight, will update once i get the # from the butcher!
UPDATE - Hanging Weight (gutted, skinned, no head) was 107.6lbs, so based on what I was told that would be around 160-180 lbs live weight

Congrats on your deer and the great year you had so far

Congrats on all the success

Congrats, a good neck shot is one of the best. Damages little meat and drops them like a tone of bricks.

Awesome man congrats! It gets easier after the first one haha.
Don't be afraid of a heart or lung shot. It doesn't make to much of a mess. The only one you gotta worry about is a gut shot. Had a gut shot last year. Man what a disaster. Had to cut alot of meat away , shame on me.
