How do you folks shoo away a non-targetted deer from your stand when time is up? I don't want to raise the alarm just get them to move off.
I tried gently tearing the velcro on my blind, clapping then finally cycling my cartridges out got them moving.
I had to play Ted Nugent on low yesterday to finally move them off (WinterSpringSummerFall) :thumbup:
Have an electronic predator call set on coyote howl stashed nearby and remote start it when you want to leave? Can't be any worse than any of todays music (not that Ted Nugent qualifies as "todays music").
Some swear by carrying a sling shot,then takin few shots behind the deer(or in front of it )a bit further away.
The steady strange noise makes the deer feel uneasy........
One guy here suggested a small rope tied to a distant tree to shake when time's up.
That’s a great idea. I’ll remember that one. I’ve had forty deer sightings out of my stands in the last 8 days. A lot showing up at my baits in the last 20 minutes of legal shooting. I start howling and stomp on my stand when they are looking away from me. Worked every time.Quote:

That’s along the lines of what I do for an evening hunt but it’s generally small sticks that I pick up. I have had even that fail and had to resort to the howl to clear em out.Quote:
