When out mid day hunting them, what calls do you use? I assume no howling as I have never heard one howl mid day. So what techniques to use for a noon hunt?
Thanks

Any distress call works well if you set your caller and a "wiggler" up in a semi concealed position like under a log or thick bush. Having said that, though, alpha male "challenge" calls will really PO other alphas in the area. Play the wind, sit tight and don't move around until you can aim and shoot almost at the same time.
Mating season is pretty much upon us so don't shy away from female coyote sounds.
if not raining on Tuesday will try again, as land owner needs some help so might as well show up early and try. I also need to rebuild my deer blind as my pallets are rotting away, so picked up 3 this morning. So now I have 3 things to do on Tuesday, so here to hoping it not raining,
Pup in distress will work in daylight, I called a pack of 5-6 right up to 20’ from my front door once when showing the call to a buddy.
i was thinking that pup one would work but would have to be in spring when the pups are around. but I will give it a try as nothing seems to be working for me
So….pup in distress call….are they coming in to save a pup or finish off a pup from a rival pack ??
