No surprises
No surprise I guess:
The commission recommends the Criminal Code be changed to prohibit all semi-automatic handguns, semi-automatic rifles, and shotguns that discharge centre-fire ammunition or can accept detachable magazines with capacities of more than five rounds; and ban the use of a magazine with more than five rounds.

Too bad a few people with enough brains were not present to point out that the bans on firearms they are talking about would have served no purpose in this incident or in any other situation, as suspects go out of their way to obtain the hardware they intend to use from sources outside of the country, since they can't meet the licensing requirement to purchase them legally in this country. Or they obtain the ammunition illegally from friends or relations who should be asking to see a firearm license before providing them with ammo. This last issue is already covered under the Firearm Act.

The fact that the firearms used were illegally obtained from the US didn’t matter and never does…..
