So just got the wing survey results today. Just wondering why I'm consistently harvesting more females then males. Sure in the adult count its often said males are the last to leave and I believe the week I lose during the Nov control hunt skews the numbers but in the immature count one would think it be closer to 50/50. This year the count was 4 immature males and 8 immature females. Wondering if broods are female heavy or something else going on? Any thoughts or insights?
Herbicides like, but not limited to, Atrazine maybe

I always thought it was natures way of propagating the species by creating more females than males during there cycle of life...
Could it because of the small sample sizes. Thru the survey can you access total numbers.
Just looking a my survey. Putting it out there as curious if its an local area thing, season thing, an outlier or common. Got the same thread on another upland forum an it seems yes more females than males taken in general. Yet to come up with a scientific hypothesis however the general speculation seems to be as females are bigger and are easier to hit than males.Quote:
