I do not know much about the 870 but there are different variants so be sure the barrel matches the receiver.
The 870 with a green mountain rifled barrel is a combination that was winning target competitions a few years ago.
I ordered one from Tillsonburg Gun Shop a year or so ago. I’d suggest a cantilevered barrel if you are going to mount a scope….

Seems that ever since Ithaca came out with their 20 ga. Deerslayer there's been a stampede for 20's because everyone thinks they can shoot a deer at 200 yards. LoL ! Me... I wouldn't risk a 200 yard shot with my 12 ga. for fear of wounding it. Most of our shots are less than a 100 yards and the bulk are around 50 yards or less. Cheapest way to go is with a smoothbore and rifled slugs in either 12 or 20 ga. and I hear that 20 ga. ammo is hard to find.
