I have noticed that the ‘practice tip’ that came with my mechanical broadheads flies similar but not the same as the broadheads themselves. I’m wondering if anyone has a particular brand/model of 125 grain Broadhead that they find shoots similar to practice tip or someone that can suggest a fixed blade Broadhead that flies the same as a field tip of the same grain.
Boots being fired from an Excalibur equinox crossbow at approx 350fps.
All suggestions welcome and thanks in advance!
Not a bow guy but from what I understand weight is part of the factor.
practice form with your point however practice hunting with what ever you are going to hunt with.
I started shooting G5 Montec fixed blades by recommendation from a member here.
I find after shooting at various ranges with field points then shooting the broad head they actually fly far better than the field points on the same arrows. Take that for what it's worth but that's been my experience. (Compound bow)
my target and broadheads are the same. I use the Excalibur broadheads
Tooth of the arrow fixed heads. None fly better and they are extremely durable!
I'm having success with Iron Will crossbow series w additional bleeder blades at 400fps from a Ravin.

I dont know if this would work for mechanical heads, but I keep the old slick tricks that have killed deer with and use those as my "field points" when I am checking to make sure im still dialed in - screw on the exact same brand new broadhead and am good to go. I use a permanent marker to color my old ones ive killed deer with and keep them seperate that way I never get mixed up.
