Any predictions for what the weather will be this year?
personally i see way more action when there's a decent amount of snow on the ground. im hoping well get at least a little bit on the ground this year and enough for it not to all melt by 10am.
seen alot of wasps making nests in the ground, also read somewhere thats a indication of a harsh winter.
There’s no hard and fast rule that stipulates what weather conditions are best. During our deer hunt in November of 1999, the weather was so mild that you could hunt in a T-shirt in the afternoon. We shot 6 bucks in 3 days and could of shot more. Having said that, it stands to reason that very warm temps should curtail daytime deer movement.
According to climatologists, an El Niņo weather pattern is supposed to establish this year which could impact temperatures and precipitation. The impacts on a specific area can vary between El Niņo events so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
According to The Weather Network, much of Ontario is supposed to experience an October chill followed by above normal temperatures for the reminder of the year. Long range forecasts are developed from observations of past weather and mathematical algorithms, so not an exact science:
I used to hunt the second week as it was always colder. If we got say a foot of snow, 2 days later you could use a bat to get them, but if it stayed brown you had to hunt just the local deer.
Well according to the weather network and ElNino they are expecting a lot of snow and storms for the eastern half of Canada this year from Windsor east so you wish may come true
Old timers are calling for a harsh winter but that's not the Fall season, I'm in 90B near the lake and have seen it all but a good frost to drop the leaves beforehand and the farmers clearing the corn fields is all I ask for.
Its all about the temperature swings that seem to get things in motion IMO.
It's all relative of course. But for an example...a 5 day high of 15 degrees, then a drop to a high of 9 degrees might just be enough to spur some movement
Earth is going through a warming period (of which there have been many), the reading I have done expects that to continue for another 100 years. As such the temperature, on average, will be slightly warmer each year than the previous.

A First Nations buddy of mine said this year's winter would be a bad one because all the white guys were stacking wood like crazy. :joker:
im predicting 17 degrees and sunny to start nov 6 in southern ontario, then sleet and 2 the next day, then snow the next morning followed by 20 degree weather that evening. I usually end the week sick as a dog anyways for some reason...
