Still Nursing

Here is a pretty large fawn still hitting Mom up for a snack. TC

you'd wonder why she letting it nurse. makes me feel better seeing a big fawn still nursing though. I shot a big Doe 2 years ago that sure looked like she was still nursing, felt bad figured there was a little fawn around.

Unless you have video, it's hard to say for sure. The next couple of frames might show mama kicking the fawn away. I watch deer in my back yard and lots of times when mama is feeding a fawn will try to suckle but she shuts that down pretty quickly.

Video would have been nice. I have several stills of the fawn nursing and it doesn't appear as thought the doe is kicking it away but you never know. I probably have a hundred pictures of these two over the past several weeks. TC
