Have a look at the 'New Posts' category, there are quite a few.
I was out in October for the archery deer hunt. Prior to my arrival, deer were showing up in singles and groups on the trail cameras at all times of day & night. After my arrival, they all went nocturnal so I have no success story to post. It was good to be out nonetheless. However, I do frequent the forum and enjoy reading about the adventure and success that other forum members have.
That there is 'not a lot of people hunting' might well be the case, Back deer hunting I heard relatively few hunter shooting compared to about 3 or 4 years ago. As far as the duck season they have really massed that up with the early goose season. If you wanted to put feed in to keep the ducks around you have to stop 14 days before the opener of the migratory bird season, that use to be the first or second week of September, now you are talking the middle of August. That a full month before the duck season opener in late September, by then the ducks have moved on to greener pastures.
You don't stop hunting because you grow old. You grow old because you stop hunting.

I am a little hesitant to say there are fewer hunting this year, but I will say that the number of shots I heard this year was the lowest in recent memory. The deer were more nocturnal where we hunt in 68b, but the only shooting I heard heavy was what I believe was from early goose hunting in fields. Not giving up yet, got smoke-pole season as well as the Exocet to play with.
On a side-note, it has been the driest fall in a long time, the soft maple swamp always has water in it by now, but you could still hunt it in sneakers.

I Pretty much concur with all comments, the two big does and three fawns that I had coming to the apples and orchard area all disapearred at the start of the rifle hunt and only one pair made a visit ten night,s later. Either being chased around by bucks or did not like the presence of coyotes in the area.
In relation the water levels I have swamp up my way that is now bone dry and it always traditionally held 18 inches of water, so yes very dry. The water table is down as I am on an artisian well and generally it pumps itself up the pipe and into the basement, not this year no free flow.
I would disagree with the baiting for ducks being the problem. Baiting a pond will definitely draw in ducks, but that a very small percentage. I would go with people are just not posting, seems to be the case in all forums. I don't use facebook but I bet that is still going strong, as younger people seem to use that medium or just txt their buddies about their hunts. I will post my hunts only if successful and read all those that do post. So for hunting 1 or 2 deer if I'm lucky and a few squirrel posts and a few waterfowl hunts maybe. Maybe people are thinking by posting they are bragging, I certainly don't like to read about others success. I don't post a lot of fishing posts as people seem to want to know exactly where you were, almost want you to catch them for them.
