great morning 2nd buck
well was a good day saw 2 deer cross in front of me driving to bush, they walked up the driveway I was going to. Turned in and there were 3 more that joined them. about 730 saw a deer way off trotting through bush, figured something chasing it. 755 this deer comes trotting by, thought it was a doe which I was going to pass on today, until it got in the open then saw that antlers, so brought bow up. I grunted and it stopped for the perfect shot at 22 yards. I got up to go check for blood and bolt, got half way there and 2 coyotes come along chasing it. they stop for even better shot, but I hadn't reloaded so yelled at them to get them to move. Left for the jeep, unloaded quad and got Sam and headed right back, didn't wait the normal 30 minutes as I was afraid coyotes would have a good meal. Knowing it was a good double lung shot it wouldn't go far. Sam got on it right away and found it about 80yds out. Sam did a really good job tracking it. Not a big deer but big enough, 3 points

Very good result, narrow easacpe for the coyotes.

yeah I learnt a lesson today, never move from spot until reload.

Congratulations on bagging a buck! Those coyotes can be very persistent when they get on a fresh track, especially if there’s blood involved.

awesome job - would have been cool had you nailed a yote or two to boot!

Nice that you share the hunt with your dog. Nice buck.

Nice job!
I had a similar experience in this season's black powder party hunt.
Had a doe down in the field. Field dressed it and went back to get the quad because I can't drag deer anymore and she was a whopper of a doe!
When we arrived back to get the doe the dam Crows were on the doe picking at her hams! I hate crows... lol
