Have worked 12 hour days every day since Nov 09 of the rifle hunt until today with the exception of a half day last weekend to cut a X-mas tree with my granddaughter. Pretty much sick of it (and honestly getting too old for that $%^# but sometimes i am my own worst enemy) so put my clients on notice. Leaving 9am Sunday morning and driving north until i find good ice. Nephew is in so won't be solo (to the relief of my wife). Expect we will end up somewhere around Cochrane but remains to be seen. Told him to bring warm clothes, sleeping bag and whisky - I have everything else covered. Has the potential to be epic as we are kindred spirits but also has the potential to fail in equally epic fashion - my favorite kinda adventure. BIL has opted out as fly by the seat of your pants is not in his comfort zone. Return date not set but probably Wednesday. Until then.

I AM JEALOUS! Took many seat of the pants trips over the years. Enjoy the trip however it goes.

Very little to no snow up around the Lakehead. Not much for safe ice yet but some have 8-9”. I’m hoping to get out between Christmas and New Years.
