To reach a destination in the BMZ that baitwas lawfully acquired in, a person may transport bait through an adjacent BMZ only if they use a direct route through the adjacent BMZ.

Preserved baitish or leeches may betransported into or out of BMZs if the bait:
• is dead,
• has been preserved (treated or prepared in amanner to prevent decay or decompositon)using a method of preservaton other thanrefrigeraton or freezing.
So then dead salted minnows would be okay.
Thanks for the update Werner! Good news for me as I live right on a bmz boundary. Now I can use salted bait and no stupid receipts. Should save me $150 not having to buy inferior emerald shiner bait. The whole deal was/is a crock of foul-smelling fecal material. The same Simcoe emerald shiners supply bait shops in both the southern and central bmz’s yet purchase from a southern dealer cannot be used in the central zone. I say pile of shyte with a capital S!
